Mid Term Submission

I decided to stick with a more neutral grey theme for the magazine as it is more of a destination magazine that focuses on showing off the attractions of a certain place and doesn't need to be excessivly flashy or have an over the top and bright color pallet. I have most of the information and pictures organied in text boxes with a border around them as to seperat ethe information out and make it clear as to what information goes to which picture.

Two pages of the magazine

Final Table of Contents

I had the same problems with the table of contents that i had with the title page as i still had to use the picture of the table of contents that i made in class and paste the other pictures and text on top in powerpoint. It was easier this time around as i knew what to do to get it done but it was still a long process.

Final title slide

Making this final title slide was fairly difficult as I dont have publisher on my computer at home and had to use the screenshot of the title slide and a few textboxes to recreate the look of the origional and had to put it together in power point where after it was finished, took a screenshot and edited back down to size. It is still the same as the other title slide but took a lot more work due to not having publisher on my computer. And I dont know why the text is underlined but I cant fix it.

Scheduling Photo shoots

I planed to do most/all of the photo shoots on saturday, december 21. I also planned on taking photos of the celery fields, St. Armands, sleby gardens, the unconditional surrender statue, and the Big Cat Habitat during the day so that I can get well it photos and I planned on taking these during the day as they dont have have christmas lights set up. I planned on taking the photos of UTC during the night/afternoon as one of the main attractions is the lights and I felt that it would be good to highlight that.

Table of contents template

As of right now, I still don't have all of my pictures, or any of them really, and I still need to create my flat plan with all of the ideas for pages, and this template will most likely change over time but this is the current template that I made. I'll use three different pictures, they may correspond to what is in the text box beside them or they may not, I'm not sure yet, and ill have all of the different pages grouped into the three labeled text boxes. The title is still the same font as that on the cover and the font inside the text boxes is another normal font as it doesn't need to be flashy or anything, it is simply there to show what items are on what pages.

Cover Design Template

After reviewing and looking through multiple different travel magazines for the genre research, I realized that many of them had some sort of title that reflected travel, relaxation, or something else of the sort such as "Adrift", "Get Lost", "Travel", "New Destination", so on and so forth. From this I came up with the title Cruise Control because it is used by many people as a way of saying take it easy, or relax and I felt that it worked out pretty well. The title and subtitle are in a flowing and smooth font as somewhat of a symbol of go with the flow (I know its cheesy but I don't know how else to word it) while the lower information boxes are in a normal font as they are there more for a side note that serves provide general information about the area and what is to be expected in the magazine and don't have to stand out all that much due to how all of the attention will be on the photo and title.
